Scholarship Open for International Students: No
Scholarship Description: At Liverpool, we have developed techniques to measure the electrical properties of single molecules, using scanning tunnelling microscopy. An EPSRC-funded studentship in molecular electronics is now available. The project will involve the synthesis of electron-rich conjugated molecules, with pendant groups to allow their attachment between metal contacts for single molecule conductance measurements in the presence of different environments. Funding rules mean the post is available to UK or EU citizens only.
How to Apply: Online
Scholarship Application Deadline: 31 July 2011
