Merit Cum Means Based Scholarship for Minority Communities funded by Government of India, India

Scholarship on Merit cum Need Basis for the students belonging to Minority communities for Undergraduate , Postgraduate , Technical and Professional courses in India -2011

Eligibility:
i)Financial assistance will be given to pursue degree and/or post graduate level technical and professional courses from a recognized institution. Maintenance allowance will be credited to the student’s account. The course fee will be paid by the State Department directly to the institute concerned.
ii) Students who get admission to a college to pursue technical/professional courses, on the basis of a competitive examination will be eligible for the scholarship.
iii) Students who get admission in technical/professional courses without facing any competitive examination will also be eligible for scholarship. However, such students should have not less than 50% marks at higher secondary/graduation level. Selection of these students will be done strictly on merit basis.
iv) Continuation of the scholarship in subsequent years will depend on successful completion of the course during the preceding year.
v) A scholarship holder under this scheme will not avail any other scholarship/stipend for pursuing the course. he annual income of the beneficiary/parent or guardian of beneficiary should not exceed Rs.2.50 lakh from all sources.

Scholarship Open for International Students: No
Scholarship Description: Every year 20000 scholarships will be distributed among the students of minority communities throughout the country. Based on the state-wise population of these communities.The scholarship is dependent on the satisfactory progress and conduct of the scholar. If it is reported by the Head of the Institution at any time that a scholar has by reasons of his/her own act of default failed to make satisfactory progress or has been guilty of misconduct such as resorting to or participating in strikes, irregularity in attendance without the permission of the authorities concerned etc., the authority sanctioning the scholarship may either cancel the scholarship or stop or withhold further payment for such period as it may think fit.

Eligibility:-The applicants should hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Science and Engineering with research interests in Cognitive Science and a good academic record.

Scholarship Description: The interested scientists are welcome to participate in this Cognitive Science Research Initiative and submit research proposals in their area of expertise. The scientists are requested to use “SERC PROJECT FORMAT” for submitting research proposals which is available at www.serc-dst.org. General information and instructions can also be seen at same web address. Fifteen (15) copies of the proposal along with its soft version are to be submitted. The envelope should be superscribed “Proposal for Cognitive Science Research Initiative (CSI). The postdoctoral fellowship is a purely temporary assignment and is tenable for a maximum period of 2 years. In exceptional cases, depending upon progress of the research, the fellowship may be extended for the third year. Each fellow would be entitled to a fellowship of Rs 35,000/-per month and research contingency grant of Rs 1,00,000/-per year, payable to the host institution. The fellowships cannot be availed at the same institution where the candidates have earned their Ph.D. degree.

2011 CIMO India Fellowships for Doctoral Students, Finland

CIMO India Fellowships for PhD applicants from India, Finland

Scholarship Description: The CIMO India Fellowships are offered for Doctoral level studies, research and teaching at universities and university research institutes in Finland. The scholarships are intended for Indian applicants who have completed a Master’s degree. Neither studies at Master’s level nor are post-doctoral studies supported in the programme. The amount provided by the scholarship varies from 900 to 1200 euros per month. Also, an additional travel grant of 500 euros is awarded to applicants who will be invited from India to Finland. The scholarship period may vary from 3 to 12 months. How to apply: Please note that prospective students cannot apply for a CIMO India Fellowship independently. The CIMO India Fellowships are applied for by the Finnish university departments wishing to host the visiting student or researcher. The applying department is expected to commit to common objectives with the prospective scholarship holder. The scholarship is personal.

The selected candidate is possible to register for Ph. D. program as per existing Institute rules. The aim of the project is to develop new methodology dealing with cycloaddition reactions, asymmetric variant of the same and application towards alkaloids syntheses.
Eligibility: M.Sc. Chemistry with 60% marks (or 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale with valid GATE score or CSIR/UGC NET qualified candidates are eligible to apply.
