Scholarship Description: The Society for Renaissance Studies Postdoctoral Fellowships,which support research in Renaissance Studies. Two of the Fellowships to be awarded in 2011 are open to all suitable candidates working in the field.The third has been founded in memory of Ruth and Nicolai Rubinstein, with a view to supporting research in Italian history and culture.
Applicants for both Fellowships must be graduates of British or Irish universities, with PhDs awarded in the last five years, and currently engaged in full-time research, part-time teaching or independent scholarship.The Fellowships are worth £5,500 and should not be held in conjunction with another full-time postdoctoral or academic teaching post. Applicants should be aware that the Society is developing a number of international links, including one with the Istituto Nazionale di Studi sul Rinascimento, which would be willing to provide practical support for Fellows wishing to spend time in Florence.
The period of tenure will be twelve months from 1 October 2011, during which time the Fellows will be invited to attend meetings of the Society’s Council.
