Eligibility:A Ph.D./Master in Bioengineering, Cell Biology or Microbial Ecology or related disciplines. Previous experience in microfluidics will be considered an asset. Flexible regarding prolonged research stays in the USA and Luxembourg. Excellent working knowledge of English. As the University of Luxembourg is set in a multilingual context, French and/or German would be an advantage.

Scholarship Description: Conceptualisation, design, engineering, prototyping and implementation of a microfluidics-based co-culture device for the concomitant cultivation of human and microbial cells. The project will be carried out in collaboration with the Center for Applied Nanobioscience and Medicine at the University of Arizona (USA). Consequently, the successful candidate will spend a minimum of 1 year in Arizona before returning to the University of Luxembourg.Opportunity to participate in the development of the newly created LCSB.
