Scholarship Description:The Music Acoustics Research Group at the Department of Speech, Music and Hearing has an opening for a doctoral student, in an interdisciplinary research project on human voice analysis and simulation. This will involve theoretical, experimental and possibly clinical studies of the dynamics of phonation and articulation.This is a four-year, time-limited position and normally includes 20% departmental duties, usually teaching. Research students must be registered at KTH.
A suitable background for this position would be a Master of Science in Computer Science, Physics or Electronics Engineering, or similar, with special interests in one or more of signal processing, multiphysics, music and audio, and medical technology. In addition to the traditional academic merits, a degree project within one of those areas, international experience and language skills are regarded as advantageous qualifications. Good programming skills are necessary.Applicants must be strongly motivated for doctoral studies, possess the ability to work independently and perform critical analysis as well as possessing good levels of cooperative and communicative abilities.
