Scholarship Description:The effect of various instruction methods (action execution, action animation, no action) on the learning of words from different word categories (nouns, verbs) will be measured. Publisher Malmberg is strongly involved; results of the experiments will be used to develop tools for school programmes. The research project is funded by two grants awarded to the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour (DI) at Radboud University Nijmegen and Erasmus University Rotterdam. The funding agency is the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (Brain and Cognition Programme).
Simultaneously, a project investigating the involvement of sensorimotor experiences with regard to learning outcomes in children learning mathematics will be carried out.
